Chapter 4

In the corner of  the spacious balcony, pots of bamboo and cypress were planted. I hid behind the flower pots as the owner of the footsteps entered. Holding my breath, I crouched low behind the densely clustered bamboo. Luckily, it seemed like they didn't notice me and had come here seeking solitude. If they were a guest, it was natural for them to enjoy the banquet. Why come all the way out here for some peace? "Haa..." When I finally dared to open my tightly shut eyes, I saw a young man standing by the railing, holding a glass. No, he wasn't a man; he was just a boy. The moonlight illuminated his face, revealing his youthful features. He was tall, maybe in his late teens at most. It was quite a cliché scene to see a nobleman brooding alone on a balcony during a mansion banquet, but I couldn't help but notice how handsome this boy was. I got lost in my thoughts, momentarily forgetting the danger I was in, and stared a...

Chapter 3

The terrible high fever that persisted for several days showed no signs of abating, and with no access to a doctor or a first-aid kit, all I could do was attempt to cool her fiery body with a towel soaked in cold water. Without any medicine to administer, all we could do was make her drink warm water. "Sasha, get some rest. What if you get sick too?" "... Go away. It will be a big deal if you and Oppa get infected too." "Do you think you won't catch it?" I worried about the possibility of all of us getting infected, but luckily, that didn't happen. I gathered leftover chicken, salad greens, and biscuit crumbs from Lethias's birthday, put them in a kettle, and attempted to cook a stew. It was far from what one might call a proper meal, let al...

Chapter 2

It was a completely cynical tone. I responded calmly. "I'll celebrate it twice later, so no worries. Besides, today is Lethy's birthday..." "By the way, how about making a doll for Hyung's birthday, just like the one you made for Estelle? It would be perfect, as their intellectual levels are the same." "Don't say that." I understood what he meant, but I shifted my posture and added cautiously. "True, when someone is going through something that is mentally exhausting... They say they close their eyes and mind to protect themselves and see things the way they want to see them. I think Oppa is like that too..." "Others might be able to do that. Estelle and you are capable of it. But Hyung must not." I fell silent and focused on listening to him carefully. Setting aside the fact that he was right, it seemed like he was finally opening up about his true feelings after a long time. Benya continu...
